Virtual Mission Week
At the beginning of this month, we hosted our first Virtual Mission Week in Mexico, where we took you through the construction of Casa #1 of 2021 in Reynosa, showed you updates on our other programs, and shared greetings from your friends here on the border. We had so much fun chatting with all of you who tuned in live, and if you missed it, don’t worry! You can catch up on the whole week on Facebook and YouTube.
And if you know someone who is always asking, “What is that Mexico trip you do every year all about?” share these videos with them! They’re a great way to give someone new to Faith Ministry an overview of what we do. You can view the entire week of videos with just one click – click here for Facebook and click here for YouTube.
Thanks again for joining us for our Virtual Mission Week; we had a blast!
More Houses and a Roof
This month, we built Casa #2 in Reynosa for the Facundo Castillo family, provided by our friend Steve in North Carolina! Our staff and extra help did an awesome job building this house, which included a bathroom. Meanwhile, our staff and extra help started construction on Casa #1 in Miguel Alemán for the Sanchez Garcia family, provided by our friends from the Harris family in Texas! (scroll down for more updates from Miguel Alemán). We also finished off Casa #1 in Reynosa by pouring the roof, which you can watch here. Our new Board president Nathan Arledge was in town for that, so it was even more fun!
We currently have at least 8 families on the waiting list for houses this year, and we are eager to build them the homes they need! If you or your church is interested in funding a house for a family in Mexico this year, please email Colleen at colleen@faithministry.org; the cost is $6,000. Muchas gracias!

Updates from Miguel Alemán
As mentioned above, we have officially started house construction in Miguel Alemán! Our construction supervisor Luz is working with some local help to build Casa #1 for the Sanchez Garcia family, provided by the Harris family in Texas. Our staff there has also been distributing grocery packages to families in need and operating our children’s nutrition program grab-and-go style.
Unfortunately, there have been recent spikes in violence in Miguel Alemán. As you may know, Miguel Alemán is a small town (it’s located about an hour and a half west of Reynosa), so given its size, it can be very dangerous for the whole town when there are violent incidents. All of our activities there are being carried out with an abundance of caution and are being paused when necessary. Please join us in praying for peace in the town of Miguel Alemán and for the families that live there, including our staff and their families.

Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- Marisela, our cook and caretaker in Reynosa, who is having health issues related to her back; pray for healing and comfort for her.
- The sister of Dr. Joaquin, our doctor in Reynosa, who is dealing with serious health issues; pray for her healing and peace for their family.
- Peace in the town of Miguel Alemán, our staff, and the families that live there
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Somos Familia!
The past year has reminded us what a blessing the Faith Ministry family is – all of us on staff here in McAllen and Mexico and all of you across the country (and around the world!). Our friends Ben and Sherry from Old Bethel United Methodist Church teamed up to create this beautiful mural that reads “Ministerio de Fe, Somos Familia,” or “Faith Ministry, We are Family.” The two starfish represent our family on both sides of the border, and the heart represents the piece of your heart that you leave here in Mexico.
They also made us these matching shirts, and if you love them as much as we do, email Colleen (colleen@faithministry.org), and she’ll put you in touch with Ben to order one. He has offered to donate any proceeds to Faith Ministry to continue the work we are doing!

Thank You!
Thank you for everything you do to support Faith Ministry! We appreciate your donations, your prayers, and your dedication to the ministry.
