Back to School Scholarship Event!

With the arrival of August comes the excitement of a new school year! Just as students across the United States are heading back to the classroom, students here in Mexico are doing the same. To celebrate and encourage our scholarship students, we hosted back-to-school events in both Reynosa and Miguel Alemán.

From snacks and games to providing school supplies for the year ahead, it was a joy to celebrate these students and help them prepare for the new school year. It was so much fun watching these bright and hardworking students get ready for all that the Lord has in store for each of them this year!

Please pray for our students as they begin this new school year. Education is such an incredible opportunity for the students in our community, and we are grateful to be able to support and encourage them along the way. Pray that they would grow not only in their education but also in their faith, character, and understanding of God’s purpose for their lives.

Vacation Bible School: Hecho a Mano

This month, our spiritual growth team hosted Vacation Bible School here in Reynosa, as well as in Miguel Alemán. This summer’s theme was “Hecho a Mano,” which means “handmade” in Spanish.

What an impactful message to share with the next generation: each of us is uniquely and intentionally handmade by God, created on purpose and for a purpose here in this world. It was such a joy to see this message come to life throughout the week.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers and to our spiritual growth team for putting together such a wonderful and memorable week. We absolutely loved seeing families from across our community come together to participate, volunteer, and be part of the fun.

Families from our community, including our nutrition program, scholarship students, spiritual growth program, and volunteers, all joined us. Seeing so many people come together made this week such an amazing experience, and we are already looking forward to hosting Vacation Bible School again next summer, along with more community events in the future.

None of this would be possible without your generous support. Thank you for helping make events like these possible and for investing in the lives of children, families, and our community. We are so grateful for your partnership!

Miguel Waited 10 Years for This Moment

Miguel had just finished middle school when his parents applied and were approved for a Faith Ministry house; at 15 years old, he stepped up as his family’s sweat equity volunteer. At the time, the family of five was living on the $75 his dad made each week running a food cart. A group from Wake Forest, North Carolina, visited Reynosa during a scorching hot week at the end of July, and block by block, they worked alongside Miguel and the other volunteers to build his family’s house.

Our Amigo Nate

We were blessed with an amazing visit from our great friend, Nate Rector, the Senior Pastor at Grace Raleigh Church in Raleigh, NC. Nate shared valuable wisdom with our students at Berea Bible Institute, as well as our staff in Reynosa, about what it means to be a leader, a team member, and someone who works diligently and faithfully for the Lord.

It was such a gift to have Nate here to fellowship with us and encourage everyone, especially after a very fruitful summer that God has richly blessed. We are incredibly grateful for his time, wisdom, and encouragement.

We can’t thank Nate enough for investing in our staff and students. We look forward to the day when he can come back and visit us here in Mexico again in the future!

Exciting New Projects

Over at Naranjito, we are embarking on some new and exciting projects! This month has been filled with special projects as we wrapped up our summer mission groups last month.

We are continuing to expand the Deantin Community Center, and our staff has broken ground on a new grill and patio area. This space will be used to serve the community through future events such as Christmas fiestas, weddings, celebrations, and so much more.

We believe Naranjito has a bright future, with many more opportunities to impact lives and make a difference in the community. We can’t wait to see everything come together and look forward to sharing many special moments of fellowship and plenty of carne asada together as a family!

Feliz Cumpleaños!

August is a special month as we celebrate the birthdays of three of our staff members: Mariel, Ann Frances, and Carlos! Please join us in celebrating their lives and thanking God for the many ways He has blessed them over the past year.

Their hard work, friendship, and dedication contribute so much to the mission here at Faith Ministry. We are incredibly grateful for each of them and for the effort they put in every day.

Please join us in praying that God continues to guide, bless, and strengthen Mariel, Ann Frances, and Carlos in the year ahead. And most importantly, join us in wishing them a very happy birthday!

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • For Colleen, Cruz, and the rest of the Hernandez family as they are expecting another beautiful daughter at the end of January 2027. Pray for a healthy pregnancy, a safe delivery, and God’s peace and blessings over their growing family.
  • Continued prayers for Juan, nurse Juli’s brother, as he faces ongoing health challenges. Pray that he feels the Lord’s presence and that God provides healing, strength, and wisdom to his healthcare providers.
  • For Faith Ministry as we continue serving our community. Pray for the spiritual health of everyone we serve and for God’s continued blessing and guidance over all of our programs throughout the year.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12

Leave a Legacy

This month, we are launching our Legacy Giving Program, so that gifts made today can help ensure that work continues for generations to come. A legacy gift – through a will, retirement account, life insurance policy, or other estate plan – becomes part of the Faith Ministry Endowment Fund, planting seeds that will bear fruit long after us.

If you are interested in learning more about our Legacy Giving Program and the Unidos Circle, please contact David or Colleen, or visit faithministry.org/legacy.

Thank You!

Thank you for everything you do to support Faith Ministry! We appreciate your donations, your prayers, and your dedication to the ministry.
