Congrats to our Sewing Program Graduates!

What a marvelous time we had celebrating the ladies in our sewing program earlier this month! We were thrilled to celebrate five women who successfully completed the program. Each graduate proudly showcased her beautiful final-project dress and received her certificate of completion.

God is truly at work in the lives of women here in Reynosa, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside them as they learn new skills, grow in confidence, and deepen their relationship with the Lord.

We are especially thankful to those of you who generously donated sewing machines for each woman to receive upon completing the program. This incredible gift will allow the women to continue practicing their skills and pursuing opportunities to use what they have learned.

We are also incredibly grateful for our teacher, Lupita, who has spent more than a year guiding, teaching, and mentoring these women. She has not only taught them the skills and business strategies needed for sewing, but has also faithfully discipled them through daily teachings from God’s Word.

Congratulations to all five graduates! We are excited to see how God continues to work through each of you, and we look forward to the growth and longevity of this wonderful program in the years ahead.

Our Friends from FPC Garland + Oakmont Chapel

We were blessed this month by visits from our friends at FPC Garland in Dallas, TX; Oakmont Chapel in Hoover, AL; and Free Spirits from Arizona. These groups came down to serve alongside us and were a tremendous help as we worked on a special project at the Deatin Community Center in Naranjito.

One of the highlights of their time with us was pouring the patio and grilling area. In the future, this space will provide a wonderful place for the community to gather for Christmas fiestas, weddings, quinceañeras, and many other celebrations. Food is such an important part of bringing people together here in Mexico, and we couldn’t be more excited to help create a space where people can gather, share a meal, and enjoy time together.

The groups also spent time serving in our other programs, including our nutrition program and grocery distribution. Their willingness to jump in and serve wherever needed made a meaningful difference.

This work truly could not be done without the partnership of our friends, families, and churches who faithfully come alongside us. We are so grateful for each person who gives their time, energy, and resources to help make these ministries possible!

If you’re interested in joining us in Mexico, we’re already booking for 2027. We would love to partner with you! Check out our schedule and info online and get in touch with Colleen if you’d like to know more.

A Visit from the Board of Directors

What a treat it is for us whenever our Board of Directors comes to visit us here in Mexico! We cannot thank each of them enough for taking time out of their busy schedules to come, serve, and share life with us. This incredible group of individuals pours their hearts into every program and every detail of the ministry happening in Reynosa and Miguel Alemán.

During their weekend with us, the board spent time discussing future ideas and plans for Faith Ministry, as well as reviewing each of our programs and the health and well-being of our staff and volunteers. Their guidance, wisdom, and genuine care for the ministry are such a blessing to us.

Of course, no visit would be complete without getting a little messy! The group traveled to Mexico to help pour a roof on Casa #12 of this year. It was especially meaningful for our board member Diane to be part of the project, as her group, FPC Fayetteville from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was the team that helped build the home.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and heart that our Board of Directors invests in Faith Ministry. Their leadership and care play an important role in the ministry today and in the plans God has for our future. We are excited to see how He continues to lead, provide, and work through this ministry and the people who faithfully serve alongside it!

Celebrating Birthdays!

This month, we had the joy of celebrating the birthdays of three special members of the Faith Ministry family: Marisela, Luis, and Miguel!

Marisela is our cook here in Reynosa and plays such an important role in caring for our staff, volunteers, and visiting groups. She makes sure everyone enjoys wonderful meals during their time here in Mexico. In addition to serving our teams, Marisela also prepares meals for our child and adult nutrition programs. We are so thankful for her incredible skills, her joyful heart, and the way she faithfully serves others through something as simple, and meaningful, as a good meal.

Miguel serves as part of our support staff here in Reynosa. He truly does a little bit of everything! From helping mission work groups and assisting with special projects around the ministry to being actively involved in our spiritual growth program, Miguel is always willing to step in wherever he is needed. We are incredibly thankful for his servant’s heart and his willingness to serve wholeheartedly.

Luis is also a dear friend and an important part of the Faith Ministry family. Having grown up around the ministry, Luis has served in many different ways over the years, including interning, working with us, helping volunteer groups, and, of course, grilling some amazing food! We are grateful for his continued willingness to jump in and serve wherever he can.

Please join us in celebrating these three wonderful individuals and praying that God will continue to bless, guide, and strengthen each of them in the year ahead. We are so thankful for the unique ways Marisela, Miguel, and Luis serve and bless Faith Ministry!

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • Prayers for the staff and volunteers at Faith Ministry as we enter a busy fall season. Pray for the physical and spiritual needs of the ministry and everyone involved. We ask God to continue to care for, guide, and provide for each person serving in the ministry.
  • Please continue to pray for Juan, Nurse Juli’s brother, as he undergoes treatment for his ongoing health challenges. Pray that he feels the God’s presence and that the Lord provides healing, strength, and wisdom to his healthcare providers.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
