Mission Work Groups

We started our fall season of mission work groups this month with our first team from Indiana, and we also welcomed another monthly visit from our FUMC friends in McAllen! The team built a house and poured a roof, and both groups participated in our children’s nutrition and grocery package programs. Most importantly, everyone formed special friendships that will last for years to come!

Our 2024 calendar is open for group sign-ups! If you’re interested in bringing a group next year, check out our schedule for availability and get in touch with Colleen at colleen@faithministry.org.

Progress at the Deantin Community Center

Check it out! The Deantin community center in Naranjito is coming along so beautifully, and we are almost ready to pour the roof. Stay tuned because we have some big fun plans in store for the roof pour, and we want you all to join us!

For more about what this community center will be used for, check out our video about it here.

Visit from the Board of Directors

Faith Ministry has a 12-member Board of Directors, and twice a year, they visit the border to be on-site with our staff and see the programs and direction of the ministry in person. This month, they visited, and during their time in Reynosa, they delivered grocery packages and met with the staff. They also met with the directors to help with important decisionmaking and plan out the dreams and goals of the ministry. We are thankful for this strong and encouraging Board!

Spiritual Growth Program

We have had a rebirth of our spiritual growth program, and this month, the program kicked off our time of worship for the community, including time of kids, youth, food, and fellowship. We have had a great turnout so far, and we are excited for how this program can continue to impact lives!

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • PRAISE! Juan, the brother of Juli, our nurse in Reynosa, who was recently diagnosed with leukemia and hospitalized for a stroke, is doing much better and is finally home! Continue to pray for his health and recovery, as well as for strength for his family.
  • PRAISE! Marisela, who recently had gallbladder surgery, is back at work! Continue to pray for her strength and health as she recovers.
  • Omar, who continues to battle a wide variety of health issues. He remains in Monterrey, and we ask for your continued prayers for his health, wellbeing, and recovery, as well as for his comfort and peace.
  • The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12

In Case You Missed It

David preached last weekend at one of our partner churches, First United Methodist Church of McAllen, sharing a sermon about his testimony and two very important questions to ask — who is God and what does He want me to do? Watch here.
