Celebrating 27 Years!
This month, we celebrated our 27th anniversary of working here on the border in Mexico! We are blessed and honored to still be making a difference for families here many years after Deantin had the initial vision for the ministry back in 1994. We are so proud of our staff for their resilience over the past year and a half and thankful for all of you who have been with us every step of the way. Here’s to many more years of serving here in Mexico – in His name and for His glory!
Groups, Groups, and More Groups
October finally felt like “normal” with week after week filled with mission work groups coming to volunteer with us in Reynosa! Even though they were smaller groups than usual, it was so wonderful to have their fellowship again and to be working side-by-side all month. We had groups from Indianapolis, Raleigh, and Charlotte, who, in total, built four houses, distributed grocery packages, served breakfast to kids, and planted seeds in our garden. We thank God for all of you who have spent time with us this month!
Our 2022 schedule is starting to fill up, so if you want to bring a team, check out our calendar online and email Colleen to schedule a week you would like to bring a group. We can’t wait to have you!
Board of Directors’ Visit
Our Board of Directors had a wonderful visit to the border at the end of September and beginning of October! It was great to spend time with them as a staff and share about how each program of the ministry is doing. We dreamed together about the year to come and how we can continue to make a difference for families in Mexico. They also participated in our grocery package program and had a fun cookout with our staff. We are thankful for each one of them!
Christmas Fiestas Coming Up!
Can you believe it is already time to get ready for Christmas?! This year, we will be hosting our Christmas “fiestas” similarly to last year – smaller celebrations for the kids in addition to door-to-door delivery of toys and grocery packages, and we will also be having a staff fiesta. They will be held December 16-18, and we would love for you to come and participate! If you can’t come, we ask you to consider donating to help make the fiestas happen or sending soccer balls for the kids. Visit our website for all the information you need, and get in touch with Colleen if you would like to visit!
Ways to Help via Amazon
We’re guessing a lot of you use Amazon, especially as we enter the holiday season. And we want to let you know of a few ways that you can support Faith Ministry through Amazon!
1. Fulfill our one-time needs through our Amazon wishlist
We have several one-time needs throughout the year, and it would be a blessing for you to help us with them! You can purchase them through our wishlist and have them sent to 510 N 21st St, McAllen, TX 78501. Click here for our one-time needs wishlist.
2. Subscribe to fulfill our recurring needs through our Amazon wishlist
We have ongoing needs (such as infant formula and glucose strips) that are necessary to the work we do in Reynosa. You can use Amazon’s Subscribe & Save feature through our wishlist to help us fulfill those needs on an ongoing basis! Click here for our ongoing needs wishlist.
3. Use AmazonSmile as you shop
If you select Faith Ministry as your preferred charitable organization with AmazonSmile, they will donate 0.5% of your purchase back to us! Just go to smile.amazon.com; when it prompts you to choose a charity, search for “Faith Ministry Ministerio de Fe.” And that’s it! If you want to go the extra mile, you can download a browser plugin that will automatically make sure you use Amazon Smile every time you shop on Amazon in the future (download the Chrome plugin here and the Firefox plugin here).
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- Praise! Nancy, the wife of our executive director David, is doing great after her operation last month! Everything went smoothly, and she and David both appreciated your prayers.
- Continued peace and safety in Reynosa and Miguel Alemán and for our staff and the families that live there
- The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Thank you for everything you do to support Faith Ministry! We appreciate your donations, your prayers, and your dedication to the ministry.
