Wrapping Up the Fall Season
This month, we built our final houses of the year in Reynosa, ending with Casa #31, with the help of five mission work groups with volunteers from Virginia, Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina. In addition to building houses and pouring roofs, they also helped at our children’s nutrition program, delivered grocery packages to families in the community, and worked in the garden in Naranjito.
We are currently scheduling teams for 2025! Check out our calendar online to find a week that works for your team and get in touch with Colleen to book.
Staff Health
The health of our staff is of the utmost importance to us and is why we developed our staff health initiative a few years ago. It was a priority for us, especially after such a busy season of teams and house building, to check in with our staff, and we did that through another visit from Tony, who is a psychologist and educator that works with us on our staff’s mental and emotional health. During her three-day visit, she focused with our staff and local volunteers on leadership and identity in our professional and personal lives, our team culture, and more, in addition to offering time for one-on-one sessions with staff and volunteers. This time is so valuable to us, and we appreciate our relationships with experts in the field!
30 Days of Gratitude & Giving
This month, in celebration of Faith Ministry’s 30 years of life-changing impact, we started a 30 Days of Gratitude and Giving emphasis.
Each day since November 16, we have been posting on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Included in the daily posts are the following:
- A gratitude scripture passage
- Gratitude statements from people involved in Faith Ministry
- A prayer of gratitude to God
Head over to our social media to check it out; it will be continuing through December 15! And consider a gift to Faith Ministry during this time; you can make a one-time donation or sign up for a recurring donation easily on our website, or you can send a check payable to Faith Ministry to PO Box 756, McAllen, TX 78505.
Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- Don José, our gardener, woodworker, and nightguard in Naranjito, who is undergoing cancer treatment. Pray for strength for him and his family.
- The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
In Case You Missed It
This month, our staff member Martha celebrated her birthday, alongside our friend Judy, a group volunteer from Charlotte, NC. If you’ve been to Reynosa, you know Martha is one of our hardest working construction staff! She outworks anyone else on roof day, and we are so grateful for her efforts and dedication to Faith Ministry.
Thank You!
Thank you for everything you do to support Faith Ministry! We appreciate your donations, your prayers, and your dedication to the ministry.
