News! from Faith Ministry: October 2015

Celebrating 21 Years!

This month, we celebrated our 21-year anniversary of ministry here on the border in Mexico! Two mission work groups were here to help us honor the anniversary last week. Together, we rejoiced, prayed, ate cake, and even had a piñata!

The 21 years that Faith Ministry has been making a difference on the border would not have been possible without friends like you. You all are truly the hands and feet of Christ, and you share God’s love with us and the families in Mexico year after year. Thank you for helping us reach 21 years – here’s to the next 21, and more!

Mission Work Groups

We welcomed groups from Alabama, North Carolina, and Indiana this month, and we are currently building Casa #25 in Reynosa! With two more groups coming next month, we’ll reach 28 houses in Reynosa by the end of the year. Beyond building houses, we’ve seen incredible relationships form and be renewed this month.

Our 2016 calendar is filling up with teams, so reserve your spot soon! Check out our mission work group schedule to find a week that works for your team, and email Colleen for more information or to reserve your team’s week!

It's all about the relationships. Doug F. from Grace Community has been coming down to work with us for 21+ years and together with his late wife, formed meaningful and lasting friendships.

Activities in Miguel Alemán

Our staff and volunteers in Miguel Alemán have been hard at work this month. Our Matching Challenge to build two houses there was a success, so thank you so much to all who donated! The two houses are under construction, and the Hernandez Cruz family and the Alonso Hernandez family will soon have new places to call home.

Thank you for all of your prayers for our community in Miguel Alemán. Please continue to lift them up, as we pray for peace and safety there.

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for healing and peace for:

  • Ezequiel, or Cheque, who continues to suffer from severe pain in his knee
  • Peace and safety in Miguel Alemán
  • Praise report: Maricela’s mother, who is fighting cancer, is doing better!
