Mental Health Initiative
Starting our month strong with a visit from our friend and psychologist, Tony! During the week she was in Reynosa, she spent time educating and guiding our team on the importance of teamwork.
Alongside physical and spiritual health, mental health is one of our priorities here at Faith Ministry for our staff and volunteers.
We are so thankful for Tony’s availability to spend time with us and encourage each of us. Even though our roles and job titles are different, everyone has a part to play in accomplishing the work set before us by the Lord.
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 12:12

New Faces and Sweet Friends
We welcomed a few new faces to Faith Ministry to help serve with our mission work groups. Adele, from Austin, TX, had the incredible opportunity to intern with us for three weeks during the month of May. She truly enjoyed spending time with the children in the community, as well as getting to know the groups who came down to build homes with us. We already miss her, and we continue to pray for all that lies ahead for her this summer and as she returns to the University of Texas at Austin this fall.
Later in the month, we welcomed our newest intern, Eva, from Clayton, NC. Eva just completed her first year at Liberty University, where she is studying psychology. She will be serving with us for two months this summer, helping with the groups coming to serve in June and July. We are excited for all that is ahead during her time here and pray that the Lord teaches her something new each day while she’s serving in Reynosa.

Three More Homes Built!
Three wonderful homes were built this month with the help of our friends from North Raleigh UMC and Harrison UMC. Watching the connections formed between our volunteers and the families we serve is something that truly must be experienced firsthand. From playing games with the children to helping parents build their forever homes, every moment is an adventure unlike any other.
Thank you, North Raleigh UMC and Harrison UMC, for serving alongside us to construct Casas #7, #8, and #9 of this year. We truly cannot do this work without the partnership of churches and groups, and the dedication and willingness of volunteers who say “Yes!” to serving. The trip down to Reynosa makes it possible for families to build a brighter future and a place to call home.
If you’re interested in joining us in Mexico, we’re already booking for 2027. We would love to partner with you! Check out our schedule and info online and get in touch with Colleen if you’d like to know more.

Spiritual Growth Program Highlights
The month of May was filled with events ranging from conferences and celebrations across our faith family. Early in the month, men in our community visited our partners at Berea Bible Institute in Monterrey for a men’s conference, which consisted of fellowship, fruitful time in the Word, and worship together.
We celebrated the 15th birthday celebrations of two young people in our community this month: a quinceañera for Sofia and a quinceañero for Ivan. They were both beautiful celebrations of this momentous time in their lives and the plan that God has for each of them.
Finally, we ended the month with a family weekend at Berea in Monterrey, which included food, fellowship, and a soccer tournament. Out of the eight teams from various churches who participated, the Faith Ministry team, named the “Faith Warriors,” came out the champions!

Nutrition Program Opens at the Community Center!
This month, we officially opened our children’s nutrition program at the Deantin community center in Naranjito! As we do with this program in our other locations, we focus on not only the physical nourishment of kiddos in the community, but also spiritual encouragement and guidance. For now, the program will run every Wednesday during our clinic activities and sewing class at the center. This important milestone helps to pave the way for our future hope and prayer that this center be an oasis for the community, a place of fellowship, support, and God’s love.

Día de la Mamá
We celebrated all of the wonderful mothers in our community for Día de la Mamá (Mother’s Day) this month! With a special meal and fellowship, we celebrated the love, strength, and compassion of mothers as we know that motherhood, in all its forms, reflects the heart of God – nurturing, comforting, selfless, and full of grace.

Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- PRAISE! Sergio, our staff member who had surgery earlier this year for serious health issues, is doing much better and is recovering smoothly so far. Thank you for your continued prayers.
- For María de Jesús, the wife of Luz, our construction supervisor in Miguel Alemán, as she continues recovering from health issues last month
- For Danna, our admin and spiritual growth staff in Reynosa, who is dealing with complications related to allergies
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
