Wrapping Up the School Year
Students here in Mexico are heading into their last month of the school year, and they’re excited for summer vacation! Last week, we distributed the final scholarship of the school year to the 167 students in our program. They wrote letters to their sponsors, and we took their official photos in their school uniforms. These scholarships truly make a difference in the lives of these students and their families, and many children would not be able to continue attending school if it were not for this support. Thank you to all of our sponsors for making a difference!
Stories of Hope
We shared with you earlier this month about Victor and Monserrat, two brave children born in Reynosa with difficult obstacles but who tackle those obstacles with hope and faith in God. One at a time, we come alongside “starfish” like Victor and Monserrat and do what we can to help them get back on their feet. Monthly donations enable us to do that and are absolutely crucial to the work we do. We hope you will sign up to be a monthly donor and help us change lives, one at a time.
Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- Our founder Deantin, who is currently battling cancer. He is doing well and is in good spirits, and his doctors feel positive. Keep praying for him, his health and his wife Lidia.
- Dora, our caretaker in Reynosa, who is still recovering from a fractured wrist after a fall in February. Although she is out of the splint, she is still recovering and is going to physical therapy three times a week. Pray for her as she continues to heal.
- Ezequiel, our retired foreman, and his wife Petra, who are currently dealing with health problems, including Petra’s recovery from a stroke a few months ago. Pray for both of them, that they would heal and have peace.
- The border area has been close to breaking heat records for the past week, with the temperature at or above 100°F every day. It seems like the heat won’t let up for the next week, so pray for the families in Mexico who struggle to stay cool.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12

Mother’s Day was this month, so we celebrated, of course! We had a fiesta for staff and volunteers in Reynosa, complete with a delicious meal, cake and a gift raffle.
