Mission Work Groups
This month, a team from North Carolina joined us in Reynosa, and we had a blast! They built a house for a wonderful family, volunteered with our children’s nutrition program, and helped out in the woodworking shop – they even made a few beds! Beyond that, they brought joy and love to our community and were a great reminder of how important it is to us when teams come down and live and work alongside us here in Mexico.
If you would like to bring a team down to Mexico, we still have weeks available in the fall of 2017 and are already scheduling teams for 2018! Check out our mission work group schedule to find a week that works for your team, and email Colleen for more information or to reserve a week!
Donate to the Matching Challenge
We need help from friends like you to build homes for families in need in Miguel Alemán! Each dollar you donate to these homes will be matched, so it’s a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these families. Donate today online at faithministry.org/give (select “2017 Matching Challenge”) or send a check (payable to Faith Ministry) to PO Box 756, McAllen, TX 78505 – be sure to write “Matching Challenge” in the memo line. Thank you so much for your support and generosity!
Making Progress at the Community Center
The new community center in Miguel Alemán is looking better and better each week! The floor and the interior stucco are complete. Next up is putting up the exterior stucco and installing electricity! It’s wonderful seeing this longtime vision come to life, and we’re excited to see what God will do in this space!
Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- The city of Reynosa, which experienced a spike in violence this month. Things are much better, and we have resumed normal activities, but please continue praying for peace in our city and for the families that we work with each day.
- Beto, one of our long-term construction volunteers, who is preparing to undergo surgery soon. Please pray for him as he gets ready, as well as for his doctor and medical team.
- PRAISE! Deantin, who has been in and out of the hospital over the last several months, is doing better and has stayed out of the hospital for a little while now. Continue praying for his health and wellbeing, as well as for his wife Lidia.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
