A Special Opportunity to Give
Our goal this year is to build 40 homes for 40 families here in Mexico, and we need your help! 25 of those houses are funded by groups that come to work with us, but we are asking you to help us fund the rest. Any donation, large or small, will help, or be bold and fund an entire house! You can even start a crowdfunding campaign and get your friends and family involved – it’s a great opportunity to not only provide a home for a family in need, but also an excellent way to share about a cause that’s important to you. Donate online today and learn more about what you can do to help!
Mission Work Groups in Reynosa
This month, we had teams visit us from Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina, and they brought a ton of laughter and joy with them! They built homes, poured roofs, played with the kids in our nutrition program, and built unforgettable, lasting relationships with the people here in our community, all the while sharing and showing the love of Christ to those around them. Plus, they went home on fire for sharing with others the work we are doing down here, and that is a blessing!
We still have spots for mission work groups available for 2016, plus we are already taking signups for 2017, so if you are interested in bringing a team down to Mexico, get in touch! Check out our mission work group schedule to find a week that works for your team, and email Colleen for more information or to reserve your team’s week!
Roof Pour: Complete!
The roof on the new community center in Miguel Alemán has been poured! This center has been a dream of ours for the past 12 years, so to see the roof finally complete is truly a blessing. Two mixer machines ran simultaneously, and more than 40 workers from Miguel Alemán came together to make it happen, including current volunteers and our staff, as well as volunteers for whom we have built houses over the last several years. It was truly a community effort! A huge thank you to all who have made this center possible; we could not have done it without you! Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make this center a reality!
Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- Deantin, our founder and emeritus director, who is recovering from eye surgery. Thankfully, it went well, but he will soon have an operation on his other eye, so keep the prayers coming!
- Ezequiel, one of our foremen in Reynosa, who is also recovering from eye surgery. The recovery is going slower than the doctors expected, so continue praying for his healing.
- Beto, one of our construction helpers in Reynosa, who has been experiencing digestive issues for months that will now require surgery. Pray for him as he has decisions to make and for healing and strength.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
