Mission Work Groups
We just said goodbye to a group of young adults from Grace Community Church in Raleigh, NC, who came to Reynosa to build Casa #11. They brought with them joy and love and laughter, which they shared generously with the community here. We ended the week with a fiesta, complete with a piñata, for the families we work with, and over 100 people came to eat and celebrate with the group!
We’re looking forward to more groups coming down to Mexico this summer, and if you’re interested in bringing a team, we would love to have you! We still have openings for teams to come later this summer and fall. Contact David or Colleen for more information!
Matching Challenge
We are so close to our goal for our 2015 Matching Challenge! We just finished construction on the second challenge house, this one in Miguel Alemán, and José Luis, Norma, and their three kids thank you all so much for your generous donations. Help us reach our goal by giving today online at faithministry.org/give or by sending at check to PO Box 756, McAllen, TX, 78505, and spread the word to your friends and family. A new home for each of the four families is an answered prayer, so we thank you for supporting them and this ministry!
Activities in Miguel Alemán
Some of our church congregation in Miguel Alemán has started a mission in a colonia of the town called Guardados de Arriba. Because some in the colonia are unable to travel to our church for worship each week, our pastor Benito travels there with others to fellowship with them. This month, they did a special celebration there for Mother’s Day (or Día de la Madre), in addition to a special service at our church in Miguel Alemán.
Please keep the community in Miguel Alemán in your prayers. The area continues to experience violence, and we would appreciate your prayers for the staff and families that live there.
