The Roof is Poured!

On Saturday, March 23, over 100 workers and volunteers from the U.S. and Mexico came together to pour the roof of the Deantin community center! It was a massive undertaking and a huge success – God blessed this project in so many ways. From the time the first mixer was turned on to when the last mixer was turned off, it took us 6 hours and 57 minutes. The weather was perfect, and the teamwork and community that was on display that day was just amazing.

We live-streamed the whole event on Facebook, which you can watch here and here.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible, whether it was being here for the roof pour, providing funding for the community center, sending supplies we needed to make it happen, or praying – you helped make this possible!

Beyond the Building

In conjunction with the roof pour this month, we launched a fundraising campaign to take us beyond just the building! As we continue finishing up the Deantin community center, you can help us to provide the resources necessary to run programs out of the community center and our other facilities, such as children’s nutrition, infant formula, music lessons, medical screenings, sewing classes, and more.

Group and Board Visits

This month, we built two houses with groups from Covenant Presbyterian in Malvern, PA, and University Presbyterian in Austin. They also poured two roofs, delivered grocery packages, helped with our children’s nutrition program, and more!

Leading up to the Deantin community center roof pour, we also hosted our biannual in-person meeting for our Board of Directors. We have a 12-person Board who helps guide decisions and planning for the ministry, and we are so grateful for each and every one of them!

Travel to North Carolina

Colleen was invited to Mission Conference Week with our partners at First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, NC, this month! She preached at their two Sunday services (which you can watch here and here), in addition to presenting at their Sunday school and meeting with other church members, as well as other pastors and ministry leaders in the area. It was a wonderful trip, and we cannot thank First Prez enough for their invitation and hospitality!

We love traveling to share what God is doing on the border in Mexico! If you would like us to visit your church or community, please get in touch with Colleen at colleen@faithministry.org.

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • Don José, our gardener, woodworker, and nightguard in Naranjito, who received a difficult diagnosis this month. Pray for guidance and comfort for him and his family as he explores his treatment options.
  • Dr. Joaquin, our former doctor in Reynosa, who is going through difficult health issues. Pray for his healing and peace.
  • Omar, who continues to battle a wide variety of health issues. He remains in Monterrey, and we ask for your continued prayers for his health, wellbeing, and recovery, as well as for his comfort and peace.
  • The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
