Groups, Visitors, & Interns
Our summer is in full swing here on the border! This month, we hosted groups from Texas, Alabama, and North Carolina, who combined built four houses for families in our community and helped with other programs like grocery package delivery and our children’s nutrition program. We also hosted visitors from the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, a Presbyterian pastor on his sabbatical from Austin, and one of our Board members, his wife, and his granddaughter. Plus, we have had two college interns, returning intern Luke and his friend Patrick, with us for two weeks! What a joy to have so many friends here, so many activities, and so many blessings this month.
We are already starting to schedule teams for 2023, so if you’d like to bring a team, visit our website to learn more, view our calendar for available dates, and email Colleen for more information or to book a week!
🎶 Make a Joyful Noise 🎶
This month, the students in our music program put on a wonderful concert for the community! They performed songs they had learned, with participation on bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, and vocals. We cannot say thank you enough to those who made this event possible – Julio, our music teacher; Pastor Carlos, who helped to organize everything; and our Board member Dave, who put in so much effort in coordinating the event.
We’ll be posting a video of the concert on our Facebook and YouTube soon, so stay tuned!
Taking Care of the Community
We are continuing to make sure families are fed in Reynosa, Miguel Alemán, and Monterrey. Our grocery package program started as a result of the pandemic, and it’s turned out to be an ongoing need in our communities. To provide around 150 grocery packages for one month, it costs the ministry around $3,500. If you’d like to donate toward this program, head over to faithministry.org/give.
All of this is possible because of your support! ❤️
David in Raleigh
Our executive director David Rodriguez will be in Raleigh, NC, this weekend! If you’d like to see him, he will be sharing about Faith Ministry at the 10:00am service at Grace Raleigh on Sunday, July 3. Stop by and say hi!
Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- Omar, our administrator in Reynosa, who had knee surgery at the beginning of April following a fall; he is slowly making progress but still has a ways to go. Continue praying for his healing and recovery.
- One of our church families in Naranjito, who tragically lost their 20-year-old son this month to cancer. Pray for peace and comfort for them during this difficult time.
- The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
