Graciela in Reynosa

This month, we were blessed to have a college intern with us in Reynosa. In the three weeks she spent here, Gracie (or “Graciela”), who studies bilingual education at the University of Texas at Austin, made an impact on our community here. The kids in our nutrition program loved their daily craft and reading time with her where she incorporated English vocabulary and phrases into the activities. She also taught our staff and volunteers English, which everyone has enjoyed practicing. Graciela also helped with our mission work groups and construction activities. We were lucky to have her here with us, and we look forward to her next visit!

Matching Challenge

We are so happy to announce that we reached AND exceeded our Matching Challenge goal! The third Matching Challenge house was built this week in Reynosa by a team from Virginia, and the fourth house is underway in Miguel Alemán. We are so grateful for your generosity that made these four houses possible. Stay tuned later in the year for another challenge and an opportunity to bless more families here on the border!

Mission Work Groups

We welcomed groups from Virginia, Alabama and Texas this month, and we reached Casa #14 in Reynosa! While the work the groups do while they are here is certainly important, what is more meaningful to the families here is the relationships they form. The friendships that are created and strengthened and the love of Christ that is shared with one another is truly special.

We’re looking forward to more groups coming down to Mexico this summer, and if you’re interested in bringing a team, we would love to have you! We still have openings for teams to come later this summer and fall. Contact David or Colleen for more information!
