Mission Work Groups
This month, we welcomed two youth groups – Clayton Friends of Faith Ministry (Clayton, NC) and the youth of Myers Park UMC (Charlotte, NC) – building a combined four houses! They also participated in programs with the community, including delivering grocery packages and helping with our children’s nutrition programs. It was an awesome time of relationship building and sharing in the love of Christ!
We are currently scheduling groups for 2025, and if you’re interested in visiting us and/or bringing a team to work with us, we’d love to have you. Get in touch with Colleen for more information!
Summer Interns
We had a wonderful summer season with our college leadership program! These awesome interns made such a difference to our team and our groups, each bringing something special to the ministry. As the summer came to an end, we had to say goodbye to Aubrey and Nelson (though Luis has stuck around), and it was sad to part ways. The relationships built over just a week are strong – imagine over three, four, or more weeks!
If you will be 18 or will have graduated high school by May 2025 and this sounds like fun to you, stay tuned to our social media for applications for this program for next summer! Scholarship Graduates
This month, we celebrated our 53 scholarship students who graduated from their level of schooling this year! We had one student graduate from kindergarten, 16 graduate from elementary school, 15 graduate from junior high, 15 graduate from high school, and six graduate from college — what an achievement! We celebrated our students both in Reynosa and Miguel Alemán, and we are so proud of each of them for their accomplishment in their studies. Many students credit not only God and their parents for their success, but also the financial and emotional support of their sponsors, believing in them every step of the way.

Staff Trip to Monterrey
Earlier this month, we took our interns and some of our staff to Monterrey for the graduation of our partners at Berea Bible Institute. It’s so cool to get to share in this partnership and see the wonderful work God is doing through Berea in its student body and graduates. God is good!
Travel this Fall
David and Colleen will both be traveling this fall, and we will continue to keep you posted as details finalize!
Indianapolis: August 25 (Colleen)
- Colleen will be sharing at the 10am worship service at Meridian Street UMC on Sunday, August 25.
- There will be a gathering for friends of the ministry with Colleen and her husband from 1-5pm on Sunday at our good friend’s home; please contact Colleen for details and to RSVP.
Charlotte: September 27-29 (David & Colleen)
- There will be a Faith Ministry fiesta for all friends of the ministry on Saturday, September 28; stay tuned for details.
- David will be preaching at the 9:00am and 11:00am services at Harrison UMC on Sunday, September 29.

Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- Yadira, our administrator in Reynosa, who is working to address a medical issue. Pray for her wisdom and strength.
- Don José, our gardener, woodworker, and nightguard in Naranjito, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Pray for strength for him and his family.
- PRAISE! Dr. Joaquin, our retired doctor in Reynosa, and Luz, our construction supervisor in Miguel Alemán, have both recently undergone health issues, and we are happy to report that both are doing much better!
- Omar, who continues to battle a wide variety of health issues. He remains in Monterrey, and we ask for your continued prayers for his health, wellbeing, and recovery, as well as for his comfort and peace.
