Mission Work Groups

This month, we were visited by a group of high schoolers from Charlotte, NC, and we had a truly incredible week with them! They helped us build three houses and pour three roofs while they were here, and their energy, joy and love spread to everyone throughout our community. They worked hard and formed unforgettable relationships!

Our calendar for fall mission work groups is filling up, but there are still some openings, so if you’re interested in bringing a team, we would love to have you! We’re also beginning to plan our schedule for 2016, so let us know if you’d like to bring a team next year. Contact David or Colleen for more information!

Introducing Carlos

We were joined this month by Carlos Ponce, a missionary from Monterrey, who will be working in our churches, as well as the various other areas of the ministry. He’s been spending time at the feeding program in Reynosa every morning, teaching the kids Bible stories and verses to memorize. He is leading church services in Reynosa and Naranjito, as well as ministering to the youth in each church. He graduated this past weekend from Berea Bible Institute in Monterrey, and we’re looking forward to having him back in Reynosa with us!

VBS in Miguel Alemán

It’s summertime, which for many means Vacation Bible School! Our church in Miguel Alemán has been hosting a VBS for the community, complete with crafts, games, food, and lessons from the Bible. They have also been taking the VBS to their mission in a community called Guardados de Arriba, for the kids that are unable to attend in Miguel Alemán. It’s a been a great time for all!

Please continue to keep the community in Miguel Alemán in your prayers. The area continues to experience violence, and we would appreciate your prayers for the staff and families that live there.

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • Maricela’s mother, who is battling cancer (Maricela cooks daily for the feeding program and mission groups)
  • Ezequiel, or Cheque, who is suffering from severe pain in his knee, in addition to high blood pressure and diabetes
  • Salomón, Tina’s dad, who is battling terminal cancer (Tina is a volunteer with us; we built her dad and family’s house last week)
  • Francisca, Lupe’s wife, who is having medical issues
