Warmth in the Cold
Frigid weather kicked off 2025 along the border, challenging families and work teams alike. The arctic blast brought the coldest temperatures in years, posing risks for families not accustomed to them, and sending Trinity Lutheran from Indiana, working in Reynosa, to Plan B—bringing warmth into the cold. The team of 22 from eight churches did manage to build House Number 1 for 2025, but some work was hampered by freezing temps so they partially shifted to delivering meals to families, and to children who couldn’t reach the daily feeding program. They were also able to distribute blankets and beanies from McAllen First UMC.

Miguel Alemán Charts Course
Staff in Miguel Alemán got together this month to plan and implement programs for the year. They’re delivering groceries, feeding children, coordinating scholarships for children and holding a spiritual growth program.

A Connection is Made
Nancy Hoff met José Guadalupe when she came to Mexico in 2015 to work on his family’s house. Upon returning home, she decided to sponsor him in the Ministry’s scholarship program, and a connection was born. You, too, can sponsor a child in Reynosa or Miguel Alemán and in the process, make an amazing connection and change a life.

Luis Works with Teams
Luis Rodriguez is no stranger to most visiting teams — this summer he was an intern, and for ages, he’s helped his dad David, our executive director, cook for teams at their house, and extend hospitality as only the Rodriguez family can. Now, Luis will work as a temporary staff member, accompanying and helping work teams while the ministry searches for a permanent person.

Prayer Requests
We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:
- The families along the border as they face weather hardships
- The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
