Groups, Casa #1, & Cold Weather

This month, we started off the year strong with visits from three different groups – a shortened mission experience with Myers Park UMC from Charlotte; a weeklong trip to build the first house of the year with Trinity Lutheran from Indianapolis; and a morning of mission with our friends from FUMC here in McAllen. Among their activities, they also helped us respond to the sudden cold weather this month. When it’s below freezing (or close to it) down here, families that we work with suffer, and we were thankful to be able respond to their needs with blankets, hats, gloves, and grocery packages.

We have weeks open for 2024, and we are already scheduling groups for 2025! If you would like to come work with us in Reynosa, Mexico, visit our website for more info and get in touch with Colleen. We’d love to work with you!

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • Yadira, our administrator in Reynosa, who lost her grandmother this month, only a few short months after losing her mother. Pray for peace for her family as they grieve yet another loss.
  • The mother of Pablo, the director of our partners at Berea Bible Institute, who has been hospitalized much of this month. Pray for her healing and recovery, as well as comfort and wisdom for her family.
  • Omar, who continues to battle a wide variety of health issues. He remains in Monterrey, and we ask for your continued prayers for his health, wellbeing, and recovery, as well as for his comfort and peace.
  • The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
