Prepping for the Roof Pour

We are counting down the days until Saturday, March 23, when we will be pouring the roof of the Deantin community center in Naranjito! This month, we kicked the prep work into high gear with installing the wood forms, the rebar, and the lightweight blocks that the concrete will be poured around and over.

We want you to join us for this big event! Whether you want to pass buckets or just observe this big milestone, we want you here for it. If you are interested in coming, please fill out the form online first before booking travel arrangements. We will follow up with you to coordinate your trip from there. All information and the registration form are at

Groups, Houses, and More

This month, we built two houses with a group from Meridian Street UMC in Indianapolis, who also delivered grocery packages and made puppets with the kids in our children’s nutrition program. We also hosted our friends at FUMC McAllen for another of their monthly visits, and they made one of the older women we support through grocery packages and spiritual growth feel so special by surprising her for her 90th birthday with cards, a cake, a large-print Bible, and more. It’s all about the relationships!

We have weeks open for 2024, and we are already scheduling groups for 2025! If you would like to come work with us in Reynosa, Mexico, visit our website for more info and get in touch with Colleen. We’d love to work with you!

Travel to Alabama

David and Colleen had an awesome trip to Athens, AL, this month! David preached at three back-to-back services, which gave them the opportunity to share about Faith Ministry at both Athens First Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church. We cannot thank each church and our Athens friends enough for their warm hospitality.

We love traveling to share what God is doing on the border in Mexico! If you would like us to visit your church or community, please get in touch with Colleen at

Sewing Program Graduation

At the end of this month, our four sewing students graduated from the program! After 12 months of study, they completed our sewing course under the instruction of our teacher, Lupita, during which they have learned a wide range of skills for sewing construction and design. And for their graduation, they each designed and sewed their own dress! We are so proud of these graduates for their hard work and dedication and are excited for the ways in which they will use these skills to support their families, bring community together, and nourish their soul.

Each student was gifted a sewing machine – or in one case, a crochet kit, as that is her specialty! Several of you helped us purchase those, and we are so thankful! They were purchased from our Amazon wishlist, which we will be updating again soon. In the meantime, you can check out our ongoing needs here!

Upcoming Travel to North Carolina

Our associate director Colleen will be in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in March! She will be preaching at the 9:00 and 11:00am services at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, March 17.

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • Don José, our gardener, woodworker, and nightguard in Naranjito, who had some health issues come up this month. Pray for his healing and wisdom as he goes through a tough medical process.
  • PRAISE! The mother of Pablo, the director of our partners at Berea Bible Institute, who was hospitalized for much of January, had a successful surgery, is now recovering at home, and is doing much better. Continue to pray for her health and her family.
  • Omar, who continues to battle a wide variety of health issues. He remains in Monterrey, and we ask for your continued prayers for his health, wellbeing, and recovery, as well as for his comfort and peace.
  • The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
