Holy Week Here in Mexico

The rain and wind could not keep us from celebrating our Lord and Savior’s resurrection this Easter! Holy Week was filled with joy, connection, and the promises of God.

Ivonn delivered a beautiful message on Easter Sunday from the book of John, chapter 20, verses 1–2.

“Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!’”

These verses highlight the importance of living with purpose, just as Christ came and rose with purpose.

What a beautiful time it was to worship, pray, and exalt the name of Jesus together as a community and faith family!

Our Awesome Group from Lumberton

What a fun time we had with First Presbyterian Church from Lumberton, North Carolina! We absolutely loved hosting these families as they came to serve with us during their spring break.

This group, alongside their church back home, helped construct Casa #6 for this year and poured the roof for Casa #29 of 2025. It was such an encouragement to see the younger generation stepping up to make a difference in our community.

None of this work would have been possible without their strong dedication and, of course, the ice-cold Coca-Colas at the end of each workday!

If you’re interested in joining us in Mexico, we’re already booking for 2027. We would love to partner with you! Check out our schedule and info online and get in touch with Colleen if you’d like to know more.

Spiritual Health Workshop

We were incredibly grateful for the guidance of Pastor Pablo and his wife, Socorro, and for the wisdom they shared as they taught and encouraged our staff on the importance of attitudes and skills.

Their message focused on the importance of bringing our hearts and minds before the Lord as we work together as one team, recognizing that we can do nothing apart from Him.

They also emphasized the importance of asking God to fill us with His patience and His love, and to transform our hearts so that our lives reflect Christ. Living this way helps us remain Unidos en Cristo!

Exciting Projects of 2026!

We are excited to announce that Naranjito now has a new outdoor roof over the front stage area, which can now double as a shaded patio. We are incredibly grateful for the Myers Park UMC Wesley Foundation whose grant made this possible. This space will be used for community events such as Christmas fiestas, weddings, quinceañeras, and much more!

In addition to these exciting projects, we poured the roof for Casa #1 of 2026. This home was built earlier this year by our team from Trinity Lutheran in Indianapolis, Indiana. We look forward to future groups continuing this work and helping us pour more roofs in the coming months, bringing homes in our community one step closer to move-in day.

Día de Los Niños!

Here in Mexico, April 30th is Día de Los Niños, or Children’s Day. This special day celebrates the importance of children, their well-being, and their place in the world and in society as a whole.

In Reynosa and Miguel Alemán, kids in the community had a blast learning about how Jesus is the Good Shepherd through John 10:27–28:

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

They also enjoyed songs, games, a piñata, and of course, plenty of dulces!

Three Amazing Birthdays!

The month of April was filled with celebrations as we honored three staff members’ birthdays. We truly enjoy celebrating and bringing joy to individuals who work diligently throughout the year to make both big and small projects at Faith Ministry possible.

Please join us in celebrating, praying for, and wishing David, Ismael, and Erika a feliz cumpleaños!

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • For David and his wife, Nancy, for safe and restful travels during his sabbatical
  • For Sergio, our staff member, for his continued healing and physical recovery as he has returned to work after his procedure
  • For María de Jesús, the wife of Luz, our construction supervisor in Miguel Alemán, as she continues recovering from health issues earlier this month
  • For Margarita, the mother of our office manager Sandra, whose cancer has returned and who will be beginning treatment for a second time

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
