A Visit from the Board of Directors

This month, our Board of Directors visited us on the border, and we had a wonderful time with them of fellowship and making plans for Faith Ministry. We spent time in Monterrey, Mexico, with our friends at the Berea Bible Institute (visit our website to learn more about our partnership), and we visited with the staff in Reynosa. We also had several meetings to discuss the exciting plans we have for the ministry and the ways in which God is continuining to move on the border. It was a truly fantastic time!

Welcoming Back Another Group

This month, we hosted a group from North Carolina who hadn’t been to work with us since 2017, and it was a wonderful week together! They built Casa #6, distributed grocery packages, helped with the children’s nutrition program, reunited with old friends, and made lots of new ones!

We still have some weeks available on our schedule for groups in 2022, and we are already scheduling groups for 2023. If you’re interested in bringing a group, check out our calendar and get in touch with Colleen!

Make a Joyful Noise

This month, our staff and volunteers in Reynosa built two more houses and poured two roofs! The houses were funded by churches who were not able to come to Mexico this year, and we are thrilled to still be able to provide homes for two deserving families. We have a busy summer coming up, so expect many more updates about houses being built here in Mexico!

Hard at Work

Luz and our secondary construction crew in Reynosa have been hard at work this month knocking out projects in Naranjito! Some of these projects aren’t glamorous (like fixing our water pump), but will make a huge difference for the ministry. They’ve also been adding additional walkways, finishing off our storage building with stucco and paint, continuing the bathroom renovations, and pouring a new roof over the old pastoral house. We are so thankful for this crew!

Christ at the Center

Faith is at the heart of everything we do, so through all of our programs, we want to make sure we are giving people the opportunity to know Christ. This month, one of the ways we did that was through our scholarship program. Every couple months, the almost 200 students in our scholarship program come to receive funding, and this time, Pastor Carlos spent time with each student to share the Gospel and give them a representation of it to take home with them. Glory to God!

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so please join us in praying for:

  • Omar, our administrator in Reynosa, who had knee surgery at the beginning of this month following a fall. He is recovering well in Monterrey, and he will be beginning rehabilitation soon.
  • Beto, one of our long-term volunteers in Reynosa, who has been dealing with some health issues. Pray for his health and recovery.
  • Our staff and the families in Miguel Alemán, as they continue to deal with the spikes in violence; pray for their safety and for peace in Miguel Alemán
  • The health of our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and friends around the world

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
