There is no easy way to share news like this, but it is with devastated and broken hearts that we share with you that Angel, one of our own, our brother in Christ, passed away today.

Angel was a pillar of the Faith Ministry family and a leader among the staff. He dedicated over 15 years to the ministry, and he was deeply respected and loved by his fellow staff, the local volunteers, and the hundreds and hundreds of U.S. volunteers who worked with him over the years. Not only did he supervise the construction of countless homes for families in need, he was instrumental in the day-to-day operations in Reynosa, helping with everything from logistics to security to maintenance and more. If we needed something, Angel was always there to help. He valued the friendships he built at Faith Ministry, and he looked out for the staff, volunteers, and groups as if they were his own family.

It is hard for us to comprehend what Faith Ministry will look like without Angel, and to say that he will be profoundly missed is an understatement. What we do know is that we have to honor his memory by continuing to work hard and serve families in the same way he always did, with dedication, kindness, and an open heart.

Please continue praying for his family, including Lupe, who have now lost three family members in just over a week. Pray for God to wrap them in His strength, comfort, and peace. Continue also praying for Lupe’s health; he has been recovering well physically, but this is devastating news, and he needs our constant prayers.

We do not understand why all of this is happening, but we place our faith in God, trusting that He will pull us through this dark and difficult time. We thank all of you for your love, your support, and your ongoing prayers.

Angel
